OPENSUMMIT June 3, 2021

June 3, 2021

We are expecting sunny skies Thursday but with a chance for thunderstorms to pop up during the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s on the lake. Watch for building clouds over the mountains that could quickly move over the lake during the afternoon and bring bursts of wind, heavy rain, and possibly some lighting. Winds could gust 20-30+ mph bringing choppy conditions to the lake.Sunny skies should continue through the weekend with less of a chance for any afternoon showers popping up. Highs in the 70s. We will continue to see lighter winds in the morning that increase from the southwest during the afternoon. Gusts from 20-30 mph. Calmer water near the west shore typically becomes rougher as you head east across the lake during the afternoon.

For the week of the 7th, we will cool down even more. Highs only in the 60s with cold mornings. Sunny skies and increasing afternoon winds from the southwest are expected to continue. The main weather story this week is that the mornings will be best for calmer water on the lake.
